Interactive Distance Learning

Science exploration you can't get in your classroom!

COSI Toledo has an amazing wealth of resources to draw from while providing a truly unique learning experience for classrooms of any age. You're the hero when you bring electric pickles, Tesla coils, tornado cannons and electrostatic generators into the classroom!

Give your students the opportunity to participate in a live, interactive experience between your students and the COSI Educator through video conferencing. This award-winning, entertaining, engaging program is the perfect way to integrate STEMM curriculum into your classroom.

These 45-minute sessions were developed using National Science Standards as a framework for fun interaction! Our programs focus on exciting demonstrations and engaging hands-on activities. You can chose from a range of topics, all of which complement classroom curriculums, that can be personalized according to age and ability level.

The COSI experience will resonate in your classroom long after the camera is off! Teachers receive hands-on extension activities, background information about the subject matter and additional resources for exploration that make the COSI experience a lasting one.

Available Programs

Atmospheric Adventures: For once, you'll want your student's heads in the clouds! Explore how weather is created and witness lightening indoors! Don't believe us? This is a workshop you will not want to miss.

Electricity: Your class will have a shockingly good time as they explore the concepts and principles of electricity! Students discover the science behind the hair-raising potential of the electrostatic generator. We'll send your class all the materials to make your own battery.

Motion Mania: Who knew Newton was so much fun? Explore the three laws of motion with hands-on activities and demonstrations using thermal and slow motion cameras! A great experience students can't get anywhere else.

Sounds of Science: Learning never sounded so good! Explore how sound is made and how you can change volume and pitch. Each student creates his or her own instrument.

What's the Matter?: Students explore the three states of matter in a way they never have before! Liquid nitrogen serves as a great instructional tool for this exciting workshop!
